There is no stoke like dutch stoke
From time to time a fellow dutchman reaches out. Usually the dutch know exactly where to go *or think they do, and prefer to keep the money in their pocket. Unlike this dude, a perfect match to the surf guide algarve crew. Three days in a row joining with the same dedication, appreciation and pure dutch surf-stoke. First we surf west coast waves, bigger but kind of soft. Day two he takes his missis for a small wave session at Zavial. Today we score the lucky number three at Beliche. Together with a household name, super VIP and master of stoke in his own respect the crew is complete. About as good as waves get, shared with the right dudes.
Fomo stays
Fear of missing out of good waves. Algarve is terrible for this virus. Clearly we surf every day. But sometimes even that is not enough. Knowing the tide is right and the wind just tuned offshore does not help. During most days there are plenty of activities to think of to push away the fomo feeling. Yet there are always exceptions on the rule. Miss surf guide algarve comes home early and tells me to go. Four minute drive later I stare in perfect head high waves. The main peak is busy but I walk a little and find a empty peak. On the beach I meet a friend who joins the mission. Fomo wins today, muscles will hurt tomorrow, but we all know it is worth it.
