Whenever you visit the Algarve for the first time you will realise a few things. First, how beautiful and divers this place really is. Second you will realise how hard it is to find good surf. With big tides and very fickle surf spots you really need to be at the right spot at the right time. Obviously that is where Surf Guide Algarve comes in. Meanwhile we stack up so many adventures it is hard to keep track. Therefore this blog is a little mixed bag of missions. Epic sessions for different reasons, both on the South and West Coast. More Surfergirls please
While most surf classes are blessed with way more ladies then men, this does not hold up in the guiding numbers. Most surf guide algarve guests are men. Suddenly we have three girls joining the mission at the same day. Good vibes guaranteed. Today we surf a fun empty wave that almost works as a point break in Burgau. Clean waves, no wind- perfect timing.
Time for the West-Coast
Between the South and the West-Coast is not a huge difference in distance. Yet the surf usually is very different. Overall the South Coast waves *with south swell, creating more waves with less energy. At the same time the waves are often not as clean or easy to read. On balance, the West Coast faces directly into the swell direction of most bigger swells. Result is easy, more powerful waves. Add a little offshore and this is whats possible.
