Classic September Sessions with Surf Guide Algarve on the West-Coast
Immediately when September kicks off the Surf Guide Algarve schedule is going crazy. Since we can only take three surfers out per day and do not wish to grow the company, we need to be a little selective. Obviously VIP guests have priority over new ones. Resulting in sessions that feels more like re-connecting with friends then working. Although we all know that the real work of a surf guide is done before we hit the water. Enjoy the story of two classic september sessions on the West-Coast.
Offshore at last
During summer we absolutely get blasted with strong North wind. All of a sudden the wind changes. Sand is not scrubbing your legs like sandpaper no more. No need to look for sheltered spots.
Instead it makes the ocean just perfectly groomed and organised. Even these small swells become the most enjoyable surfs just because of the offshore wind.
Algarve wildlife
Here and there you will find actually some real wildlife. That is when you know where to go and be willing to go look for it. Boar, deer, and a lost fox are common. Next to the countless bird species of course, we even have a birth watching festival. Honestly we mostly see seagulls. Until all of a sudden we surf with the GOAT! First we hear the soft jingle of the bells, and realise Christmas really is not far away anymore. Second we see a whole school or is it pack? of goats on the steepest hill you can ever imagine. Pretty wild.
