Where do you go when you living in Paradise, Surfing with Surf Guide Algarve
Summer is on her way, with this in mind, it is a good time for a little getaway. But where do you go when you living in Paradise? Winter is normally a more quiet time in the Algarve, yet we at Surf Guide Algarve feel autumn to spring as ‘our season‘. As a result of that, weeks turn into months and before you know it, it is summer again. Previous years we would drive up to Peniche or Ericeira, without a doubt good surf there. This time we only shoot out for the weekend and drive up to our friends place at Arrifana. We get all that we wish for and more. The welcome back surf is perfect too, enjoy the story.
Arrifana Surfing
There is one spot up the west coast that almost always has waves. Of course this beach attracts a lot more people than others. For this reason we usually do not surf Arrifana very often with the Surf Guide Algarve missions. Surely the waves can be amazing, but if you need to compete with so many people… Most surfers do not feel comfortable when the waves get big do. Whenever the surf guide is not on duty he does like to push his own limits a little. Everything comes together on this one day, and here is the result. Dylan Surfboard test
The day after the ‘big‘ day, big for most, but not to be compared with a Nazare or jaws of course, there is a surfboard test event. A well known surfboard shaper Dylan *from Australia, showcases his crafts and you can test them for free. Besides the fact it is a good marketing tour for Dylan, its super nice to try out different boards. After all, every board is a little bit different. Mr. Surf Guide Algarve rides the board of Justine Dupont *with big red-bull logo on the board.
Welcome back
Our getaway is over before we know it. Lucky the waves are still on fire when we return in Vila do Bispo. Whenever the waves are good, our two German VIP guests are ready to go. We get an incredible guiding session to start the new week. Big shakas, smiles, offshore wind, sunshine and perfect waves. What more can you wish for?
