The Surf Guide Algarve Dreamteam reunited in perfect Surf
As been mentioned before, the Surf Guide Algarve family is growing every year. Guests become friends and eventually they feel like extended family. All of them trying to balance a healthy relationship between their career and love for the ocean. Meanwhile a handful actually moved to Portugal, to just be sure to never miss any action ever again. Todays session is very special for a couple of reasons. First the dreamteam is back together. After a few months reunited in the place we all love the most. Second, the conditions are just perfect. Scoring an empty beach with just perfect waves. Taking turns on the new camera, making sure this one goes straight into the logbook of most memorable sessions.
What does a perfect wave look like
‘I was almost afraid I did not know how to do it anymore!‘ Yells one of the guys after kicking out of what was by far the best ride of the morning so far. Keeping himself fit doing all sorts of fitness and health programs back in Germany, but nothing prepares you for this. Waves today slightly bigger then expected, yet pretty much perfect. To sum up, although there is size, the wave sets up friendly. Whenever you are in the spot its possible to kind of chip in the wave before it really breaks. Further inside the wave goes really hollow but its up to you if you want a part of that- or not.
How many more last waves can you get
Surfing has a couple of unwritten rules. One of them is that you should never walk away from good surf. Mid session I make sure we get a couple of pictures. As soon as thats done I am back out there. One of the crew who literally just comes of the plane decides its enough for one morning. Swapping his surfboard for the camera and shoots a couple of amazing pictures. Whenever the waves are this good its hard to get in. Countless last waves are called. Eventually exhaustion takes over and it is finally time for coffee. There is a time and place for a lot of things in life. Personally I like my bitter ‘bica‘ at the local Portuguese coffeeshops. However, I am treated by the crew to a place I am avoiding ever since it opened her doors a few years ago. Honestly, they do serve incredible coffee, maybe we will actually go there again, you joining?
