Rolling the dice at Castelejo
As been mentioned before, the forecast in this place is not always on point. Local knowledge – experience help, but sometimes you just need to roll the dice. One thing is for sure, we will get wet. How good the waves will always be decided by the ocean. With a very small, lets just be honest, mediocre at best, forecast we go to Castelejo. Favourable wind and a good tide replacing our doubts for pure stoke. Clean perfect running waves with no one out. Jackpot!
Every guest is Special
To sum up, every surf guide algarve guest, is special. Meanwhile we have a tight crew of returning guests that we call VIP. In essence we just know them better and then it gets a little easier to match the right conditions with their surfing skills- likings. Suddenly we get an email from a Boogie boarder, a dude following the page for a while and keen to join the adventure. Funny enough this is maybe the third or fourth boog in all these years. Does the craft one surfs make someone special? Honestly we do not care, the guy rips and has an awesome vibe, hopefully we see him again soon.
Mixing up the Ritme
Finishing with a bang, or starting with it? Zavial looks absolutely incredible, yet challenging. Safe enough to give it a go we decide to give it a crack. Armed with a new board from Gibson surfboards and the guys supporting from the beach it can only be a good session. Our guest does not make it out and for obvious safety reasons we cut the session short. Mister surf guide gets a couple of smokers before we drive to a second beach with less heavy conditions.
Gentle waves please
Wetsuits still on we race to Mareta. Gentle clean waves rolling in and in seconds we are back in the water. Stoked to finish the morning with some small waves and good vibes. Keeping everyone *and everything in one piece and score two sessions in one morning.
