Chasing Waves and Rainbows with Surf Guide Algarve
Currently the Algarve is hit by a huge low pressure system that seems to stay for a while. Meaning that we get wet! Obviously we get wet every dat so this is not really something new for the Surf Guide Algarve crew. Yet our region can really use some rain. Finally for the first time in 7 years the water reservoirs are above the ‘too low‘ marks, and that is very good news. Whats more good news is that, even though the conditions are more tricky then normal, there are good waves to be found. If you know where to look of course. Cashing waves and Rainbows with Surf Guide Algarve, enjoy the full story.

The best memories are in your head
True, but it is also really nice to have a few pictures here as I am pretty sure not many of you actually read this text. Additionally its really satisfying to shoot a nice foto of one of the Surf Guide Algarve guests. Moments that make every session a little special and different. Waves of course, but there is a whole lot more that is part of the adventure. Meanwhile our camera gave up, again. Salt air and sand just do not seem to go well with modern technology. Presently a week without our little friend and we miss him dearly. All the pictures taken in this article are snaps with the phone. In essence they are actually pretty good, but wait till we need some zoom. We are currently looking for a replacement.

For the best waves you go to the Maldives, for the best stokes- you stay home
To sum up surfing in the Algarve, it is amazing and very consistent, yet rarely really good. Most of the Surf Guide Algarve guests know by now that some sessions we score incredible waves and other we dont. Mother ocean is kind enough to provide us with waves every day of the year, just not always perfect. Since surfing is so much more then good waves, we can make an epic session in average conditions. Not a single person in the water, incredible backdrops, and the company of a few likeminded persons. One of our VIP crew goes to the Maldives tomorrow for some quality waves, but for the best stokes he can just stay home. Have a good one buddy, Sea you soon!
