There will always be the next wave with Surf Guide Algarve
Surfing on itself is a rather interesting thing if you take a little birds eye perspective. All we do is trying to balance on a piece of swell that is about to end its journey of thousands of miles. Every swell line, and eventually wave, will never come back. There is only one of each and although some waves look a lot alike, every wave is different. Probably thats part of the beauty of our obsession too. Never will any session be the same. One thing is for sure, there will always be the next wave. Surf Guide Algarve finishes a four week long trip with one of our most VIP guests. Queen of stoke, 55 years young, mother of two kids- and surfer by hart. Enjoy the story and be inspired.
Are you ready for some real swell?
Every now and then there is ‘that day‘ everyone is talking about. Whenever this happens you have two choices. First choice is make sure you can join the madness, to find out it was actually a little over rated. Second choice is to think it will be over rated, but have fear of missing out anyway. Today we load the ‘gun‘ – 7 ft stepup – in the car together with the small wave boards for the surf guide session. Tides more favorable to wait a little longer mr. Surf Guide Algarve jumps in for a couple of real bombs in Tonel. Afterwards we surf super fun shoulder high waves in Mareta. – As good as a morning can get, and as tiring too!
Always save the best for last
All in all a good start and a good finish are the most important. Imagine going home to a land locked country with no surf for weeks- maybe months- and have a shit session as your final surf. Obviously even Surf Guide Algarve can not control the waves but we can find the best spot on the day. To sum up the last 4 weeks, we scored big time. Finally it is time for that famous last surf. Luck is always a factor but I also strongly believe in karma. Porto de Mos is basically as good as it gets for the final surf with almost no one out. By the time I run to the camera and get in position our guest takes off on the last wave of the trip. Here it is.
