The best surf of my life, Surf Guide Algarve surfing with the Dutch Gromms
Overall, Dutch surfers are the most stoked people you will ever meet. In the first place this has a lot to do with where they grow up. Although the North Sea gets waves and it will always be enough to keep up the surf stoke, it is usually far from good. On balance, when you are used to a bit tricky lineup, a different place looks pretty good fairly soon. Once we meet for our first surf session this trip Cordoama looks a little messy, but with no one out and shoulder high waves it still looks a lot better than a good day in the Netherlands. Straightaway the gromms get in their wetsuits and we actually get a super fun surf. In the meantime there is a very good looking day on the forecast that will be a very special one indeed. The best surf day of my life, surf guide algarve surfing with the dutch gromms, enjoy the full story.
So much fun
In essence almost everything is what you make of it. These Dutch gromms just see a different ocean then people who grow up here I guess. Suddenly we turn this pretty mediocre looking line-up to such a fun surf session. Lefts, rights, and the occasional straight hander. Impressive to see how much both kids improved in so little time. All of a sudden they are giving me tips how to turn better!
Dreams come true in Zavial
Cordoama really surfed us well, we get what we came for and a lot more. Lots of fun waves, shared stokes and a couple of surf pictures to fill the blog. After the session one of the gromms asks, you recon if we maybe get one of those zavial days like last year? Exactly three days later we paddle out in a surf movie that is called zavial beach break perfection. Surf Guide Algarve hitting the timing perfect and we surf our brains out. Apparently dreams do come true sometimes. Incredible to see the conditions and the skills match up in a session like this. Barrels, turns, offshore wind, sunshine, this session is incredible. After one of many barrel attempts one of the kids yells- This is the best surf of my life! Although he is only 14 years young, this means a lot.
