Surfing perfect small waves on alternative surfboards with Surf Guide Algarve
As been said many times before, Surf Guide Algarve just follows the motions of the ocean. Clearly we can not control how big or small the waves are. As long as there is something to stand up on, and we have the right crew to share the stokes with- we are on! Whenever summer is around the corner, the waves often getting smaller and the wind stronger. Obviously a small wave is still better then no wave at all! Surfing perfect small waves on alternative surfboards, two sessions blend in one story, enjoy!
What board to Surf?
From time to time this question becomes a serious dilemma. Altogether the correct surfboard can make your session. Our Surf Guide Algarve guest has three boards in his travel quiver:
– First a beautiful step up for bigger days.
– Second, a thruster shortboard/ fish.
– last but not least a super sexy single fin surfboard.
As soon as we reach the spot on the first day the choice is fairly simple. Without delay the shortboard gets a fresh layer of wax, ready for action. Altogether the perfect for these smaller but punchy waves.
Alternative surfboard day
Meanwhile the swell drops but the wind keeps blowing strong. As a result we still need to find shelter but the waves are pretty small. Luckily with the right surfboard this is not a problem. Waves and Rascals surf shop hooks up our guest with the most rad looking twin-fin surfboard ever. Alongside the dude from the previous day who takes out his single fin for the occasion. All in all we score a super fun session. We all get plenty of good waves and the Surf Guide even manages to shoot a couple of surf-photos.
