Whenever the forecast looks a bit tricky we often get the question if its worth to go out or not. In the first place, in our opinion, it is always worth to go and catch a wave. Obviously when you have limited time or money, and multiple days to choose from it can sometimes be better to pick another day. Empty beach
As soon as we park the car and check the conditions its clear we have the beach all to ourselves. Even if the waves are not epic, all that comes in, will be for us alone. While the tide turns in our favor the conditions clean up a lot. The beach break does her thing and we all catching fun waves. Since I surf a toothpick I sit a little further inside, here the waves stand up a little more. Where our new American friend opts to sit further out the back with his performance longboard and catching way longer rides.
Perfect timing
In the distance the Barao *thick brown sea mist, is already visible. Sooner or later it will hit the land and will make everything cold, grey and wet. Meanwhile we catching our last waves. Stoked with the unexptected fun waves and the private line up we walk back to the car. At the same time the sky turns from blue to grey and Sagres is showing her dark side… Perfect timing
