Sharing the stokes like a grommet with Surf Guide Algarve in Castelejo
For one thing, Grommets are usually the most stoked. Basically just pure in the moment, not caught up by a lot of other boring things that have to be done- in other words, grown up stuff. Generally only possible with a grown up on their side. Obviously its great to be 11 years old, you will need one of those boring ones to bring you to the beach and feed you after your 6 hour surf. Interestingly enough although my age does not qualify to be called grommet by a long stretch- I do often show a lot of similarities. For example a wave can not be bad. And I am always ready to go. In general I have the best session of my life about four times a week. While there are a couple of negative points to note being an old grommet. I can drive myself to the beach. In general no one tells me what to do or how to do it. In fact, even if I have to buy and prepare it myself, I can even decide what I want to eat after my surf! *ok, a three hour surf nowadays feels like six. What does a Surf Guide do on his day off
In reality this does not happen very often. Sometimes an off day means a day off. Windy tricky conditions with a crew that can reschedule make a good reason for a day of rest for the not so-grommet body. Whenever the waves are very small it is also nice to do some other activity. Obviously staying close the water. Spearfishing is one of the things I like to do when not surfing. Overall the weather kind of chooses for you here in the Algarve. Even if it would be nice to eat fish tonight. The wind is straight offshore and the waves are absolutely on fire. At this point there is nothing to choose, this grommet has to surf!
