Sharing the Aloha and super fun waves with Surf Guide Algarve in Beliche
One day I will make my way to Hawaii, the proving grounds, the birthplace of surfing. At least, I think I will. Sometimes the dream can be better left a dream and there are a lot of surfers over there. Given that the Hawaiians have arguably the best waves in the world, it is rare we get them as a Surf Guide Algarve guest. Therefore it is a nice surprise when we got this dude on board. Joined by one of our ‘vip‘-guests and our new friend from the Aloha Islands we share some super fun waves in Beliche. Lets dive into the story.
Fun waves
Undeniably the pressure is a little higher if there is someone on the Surf Guide Algarve schedule from a place with good waves. With a somewhat tricky forecast Beliche has the best cards. With the result that our VIP-guest is already stoked before we see the waves. Although a touch more size would have been nice, the waves are close to perfect. As a result of the friendly size a lot of surfers are happy to take part in the wave catching mayhem.
Aloha, good vibes only
Due to a thickening crowd we move slowly to the left of the bay of Beliche. Generally we almost never surf ‘the left‘ or how we like to call it ‘the boogie left‘. By all means the best wave on the beach but almost always guarded by the boogie boarders or some heavy hitter -often local- surfers. For the obvious reason of respect and the fact that most of our guests have no business in that corner we usually stay clear from it. Given that it is still pretty early and the waves pretty small the left its almost empty. While sharing fun stories back and forward about Portugal, Hawaii and Aloha, we get the best waves of the morning. Our other guest swaps his surfboard for the camera and shoots some sick shots, thanks bro!
