Surf Guide Algarve Epic Wave Chase from West to the South Coast
In order to score the best waves for your surf level, Surf Guide Algarve always chases the waves around. Unlike the most famous waves further North, *Ericeira and Peniche, we have a very unique set-up. In the first place, the Algarve has a West coast and a South coast. When it gets onshore on the west that often means it is offshore on the south. In the second place we can find shelter for when the waves get too big on the west. Enjoy the surf guide algarve epic wave chase from west to the south coast from the past two days!
Dawn Patrol
Another key point for surf guide algarve is that we like to surf our waves as empty as possible. There are a number of waves we make this work. Generally we surf different surf spots then most others. In case we do go to the more famous spots, we try to hit it on different times then most others. Today the tide is perfect to go early and we set our alarms. No one minds to wake up early for this, right?
The Wild West Coast
Indeed, the west coast can be a bit wild at times. Forecast computers tell you it is 0,9 meter and you get overhead hollow waves and the paddle of your life. For the most part when we surf the West coast, the swell is a little smaller. Surprisingly the waves are not. Facing directly into the swell direction a small wave becomes a serious lump of moving salt water here.
South Coast beauties
Sooner or later the wind turns again. Today we wake up with a soft, but freezing cold, northerly wind. After a long run of offshore on the west coast most other surfers sleep in. In the meantime we already catch our first waves at Zavial. Beautiful glassy shoulder high waves with no one out.
