One more wave, Surf Guide Algarve saving the best for last
When there is a first, there must be a last. In case you are on a surf-trip both sessions feel a little extra special. For some reason we all want a good wave to go in to finish any surf session. For that reason when the final session comes for our ‘first-ever‘ Surf Guide Algarve guest *after 6 weeks + 1 extra bonus week. Super stoked to see good waves on the forecast. Obviously this is a dangerous thing to do. Remember, high expectations versus reality often equals frustration. In this case we just get super lucky. Everything comes together, the wind is offshore, tide is perfect and the waves look like they come straight out of a surf movie. Joined by two other ‘VIP‘ guests that by know can handle themselves in some heavier surf, we score the best waves possible. One more wave, saving the best for last!
Christmas time in Portugal
While the chance of a white Christmas is next to not existing, this time of year is epic. Even dough we do not get much snow here, the temperatures still drop a fair bit. Chilly nights and evenings making it extra inviting to sit a little longer at the dinner table with family and friends. By the time the sun climbs over the dark cliffs the temperature rises and you will get away with a sweater, or t-shirt, depending where you are from. Finally, the waves are just perfect and thats what really matters, right?
The final last wave
By the time the 7 weeks are over, the tide has filled up and the shoulders are done, its time for the last wave. At this point it is more a matter of getting on your feet more then surfing the wave properly. By all means, the final last wave is over-rated. So is the first and the last session of your trip. But not this one, this one is just epic and we will remember it at least until the next time.
