Stoked as a Gromm with serious epic waves at Zavial with Surf Guide Algarve
As been mentioned before, we might be guilty of abusing the word epic a little at times. Because, in our eyes a session can easily be epic even if the waves are not. Surprisingly not everyone agrees with that. This is also the reason why we surf all by ourselves most sessions. Most people simply only surf when it is really good. However, when it is good, it is a lot harder to find an empty spot. The Surf Guide Algarve crew is joined by two Dutch Supergromms today. And the waves are,…absolutely epic. Stoked as a gromm we surf our brains out, enjoy the story and pictures.
Party time
Every now and then the Algarve really produces world class waves. For the most part the waves are fun to surf but you wont really see many pro surfers out. Today is different, today it is party time. All the big names of the Algarve are in Zavial with their just-as-famous photographers. The line up is packed with amazing surfers and boogieboarders. Although it is very busy, everyone seems to surf two peaks. All on top of each other. Leaving us plenty of space to find uncrowded waves.
A day to remember
The waves in the set were big, hollow and intimidating. At the same time, there are beautiful smaller waves on the inside. Positioning and wave selection is key today but we all got incredible waves. A day to remember. We finish the session playing in the sand with the smallest grommet. Dear ocean, please bring us more days like this!
