Small wave perfection at Zavial with Danish Stoke and Surf Guide Algarve
What do we know from Danish surfers? They must be used to some cold water to start. The new Surf Guide Algarve guests start the trip a little unlucky. There luggage never arrived. They do get some cash to burn so rental wetsuits it is. Time to turn there luck around the following morning. We get Zavial beach beautifully groomed with a soft offshore wind. Small wave perfection to share with the danish dudes. The stoke is real.

A forecast is always a pretty good guess. In the Algarve its usually a pretty bad guess to be honest. If you believe the magic seaweed you can surf Lagos almost every day of the week. In reality you wont. Looking at the swell angles, wind directions, swell periods and wave height is almost a study. Add the power off the moon. *Are we on big or small tides? And if the spot of the day likes a high or a low tide. In the end of the day experience and local knowledge is really key to this region. But we still need a bit of luck too.
