Perfect glassy waves on the west Coast with Surf Guide Algarve and some extra Dutch Stoke
That and more, now fresh on the new blog. We just got of the plane from a short family visit in the Netherlands. The nicest thing from holidays, is coming back home. Especially when you live in Paradise that we call the Algarve. This place has it all, and more. The first morning after landing pretty late the previous evening, there are already 3 dudes ready for a surf guide adventure. The forecast looks pretty much perfect for an easy surf, so lets go! As often we arrive early and walk a little bit to be sure we can surf without any crowds. We even got one short surf in at our trip to Holland. Nothing epic, just pure dutch stoke. But today we get perfect glassy waves at the West Coast.
Know where to go
If you go to a beach where you are new, you probably stay close to the other surfers. They are there for a reason. The waves look nice, and with them being there, there wont be much natural hazards. The big advantage of a Surf Guide is obviously that he knows exactly where to go. We can never guarantee an empty line up. But we do always try to surf spots away from the main peak. This morning we get our session completely alone while the main peak is very busy…
Sharing some Dutch Stoke
Funny enough, the dude in the pictures is also a Dutch. Living in Denmark, but still. In our 5 day family trip we got one day surf. I guess thats more or less how much surf the Netherlands gets in Summer. We visit our surfing breathing ground at Beach Break in Noordwijk. Epic to see some old friends and a big bonus to get a few waves in the Noordsea.
