Small glassy perfect waves at Cordoama with Surf Guide Algarve
And empty, that did not fit in the too long heather anymore. We get up early and beat the wind *and the crowds. With a small wave height and a pretty solid period we are in for a real fun surf. Fun is guaranteed, perfect waves are not. For a perfect wave you need a lot more than just a good looking forecast and a well willinf Surf Guide Algarve crew. You need a good sandbank, a good swell direction and a bit of luck. We get all of that this morning. On a completely empty Cordoama beach we find small glassy perfect waves.
Wax down your surfboard
In good waves or in bad waves. A surfboard that has not enough wax, sucks. On my shortboard I use a double grip pad so that I have always good grip. Wax does not melt or rub off. There is no sand coming in it. And on top of things, it does not harm the environment as much as the wax does. We always try to compensate by doing beach clean up session after the surfing… But still. Wax down your surfboard helps you to surf better. Or at least, not slip off.
Surf as long as you want
As long as you are taking waves, you can surf as long as you want. We dont bring a watch in the water. If you are tired, you are done. When you surf every day for 2 weeks straight there will be shorter and longer sessions. Today we get a good hour and half of zero wind super clean waves. When the wind kicks in and makes the waves a little less perfect we all paddle in pretty quickly. Time for a well deserved rest. There will be new waves tomorrow.
