You can find surf in the Algarve year round, 360 days per year. Perhaps the waves are not always perfect, but they are there! For this reason it’s one of the most popular European surf destinations. Of course, the warm, sunny weather, stunning surroundings, friendly Portuguese locals and amazing food help as well.
The Algarve surf beaches are spread out over the south and west coast and navigating them can be tricky. Some people drive around all day but never arrive at the right spot, at the right time because they don’t have any local knowledge.
And that is where we come in.
Surf Guide Algarve
Surf Guide Algarve is founded by Niels Labruijère. He moved to the Algarve a few years back with three goals: surfing, surfing and more surfing. He paddles out almost every day of the year and knows the Algarve inside out. The tidal differences in this part of the world are huge. No wonder that it makes a big difference to surf a spot on a low or a higher tide. The sandbanks are changing all the time. You simply need local knowledge and a very good understanding from the different forecast models to score waves in the Algarve.
Niels is here to help other surfers find their way and be at the right place, at the right time. Or: ‘ At the right spot at the right tide.’

The basics of surfing are for most pretty quick to learn. Get a good few days of white water training and you’ll pop-up like a pro. At least, that’s what you think than. Once you made it past the white water, learned how to duckdive. Take waves front and backside. Know and respect the surf etiquettes. All off a sudden you are years in the game and your progress is only going up ever so slowly. Do you really want to take your surfing to the next level? Book an advanced surf lesson. With video analyses and the eye of an (qualified) experienced surf coach you will know how to improve your surfing.

Longboard lessons
Do you want to learn how to cross step? Or do you want to know how the fin placement will change the feel of your longboard? High end surf coaching specially for longboarding. The coach will guide you from a gracefull glide-in take-off to how to walk to the nose. Please note that you need to have the basics sorted before you can attend one of these lessons.
